Scatty knits is an adventure into creating using fabric that might otherwise go to landfill. Many of the woollens or cottons come from stock that charity shops can’t sell. There may be rips or holes or the luxury garment has been felted. My aim is to take them and make something useful or even just fun. The first products from discarded wool and cotton are to satisfy my passion for all things dog. Like all dog lovers, I like them to have nice things (even if they attempt to rip them apart 😂) so there will be cashmere snoods and sweaters. Everyone needs that little bit of luxury!

Of course there will be bandanas and tuggie toys but the vision and hope of scatty knits isn’t just about making one or two pieces. It’s about aiming to use as much of the discarded fabric as I can. So scatty knits is going to be a work in progress with new products added as and when the fabric presents itself.

So expect to see cross body dog walking bags, poop bags dispensers, double skinned convertible fingerless mittens, sweater mittens, patchwork tote bags, reusable makeup remover pads and whatever else floats my boat and the fabric allows.
